Our client in Vancouver is looking for a Security Analyst
The primary responsibility of the Security Analyst is to ensure the security of corporate information by
reviewing process, conducting security audits and recommendations IT solutions.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance and operation of information security technologies including, but not limited to,
Network Intrusion Prevention Systems, Enterprise Anti-Virus Systems, Enterprise Host Intrusion
Prevention Systems, Firewalls, Patch Management Systems, End Point Encryption, and Security
Incident Management systems. - Monitor firewall logs, intrusion prevention logs, and network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity.
- Assess criticality of identified/suspicious anomalies and react accordingly providing timely
containment and remediation of potential threats. - Provide proactive and timely response to suspicious traffic patterns and assist in forensic analysis
activities. - Manage the connection security for local area networks, wide area networks, and Internet networks.
- Manage the security of databases and information transferred both internally and externally.
- Report on security system and end user activity audits providing assurance of policy compliance
and coordination of remediation efforts. - Recommend, schedule, and apply fixes and security patches to information security technologies
and end-user computing devices. - Assist in overseeing the creation and enforcement of policies, procedures and associated plans for
information security and access controls based on industry best practice and managerial direction. - Maintain working relationship with business partners and technology vendors to produce timely and
accurate results. - Provide on-call support services as required.
Skills & Qualifications - Minimum 10 years experience in the field of information technology with a minimum 3 years direct
experience in the field of Information Security. - Technical expertise in systems security administration, combined with the knowledge of security
practices and procedures. - Hands-on knowledge of firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, enterprise anti-virus software, and
enterprise patch management systems. - Experience with common protocols such as TCP/IP, SNMP, HTTP, Radius and broad
understanding of cryptography technologies/protocols including Kerberos, PKI, and AES/DES. - High level of analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Ability to conduct research into security issues and products as required.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail.
- Relevant industry certifications (i.e. CISSP, CISM, SANS, etc.).
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science.
