Our client, one of the best financial companies in westren Canada is looking for Data Integration Analyst
Role
Applies analysis and design techniques to address business needs in order to produce data extracts, data feeds and reports for analytical applications that enable users to access and analyze data in the data warehouse and report applications. Develops business requirements and data rules to understand application data.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Collect, analyze, document, propose solution and report development
- Develop user relationship, liaison between technical and business groups to develop and maintain understanding of customer needs and make recommendations for business requirements and data analysis that increase value to the customer
- Investigate and resolve operational requests – report and data issues
- Business and technical spec development and maintenance
- Review business requirements with developers
- Gather requirements from stakeholders determining project needs, feasibility assessment, data profiling, process and data analysis
- Refine business requirements to the point they are testable, measurable and complete
- Perform QA activities for BI development
- Initiate and lead analysis and design sessions with stakeholders to clarify business requirements and agree on functional specs
- Develop process decomposition diagrams, use cases, data flow diagrams, and project related documentation
- Support the deployment of solutions via training and implementation
- Design and develop SQL Server Integration packages for data acquisition from source systems using SSIS
- Design and develop reports using SQL Server Reporting Services
- Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems
- Work non-standard hours and participate in the sharing of off-hours support
- MDX and T-SQL knowledge
- Stored procedures, process excellence, analytical skills, requirements gathering
- Proven experience with SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Analysis Services
- Customer service oriented
- Documentation skills, business writing skills and acumen
- Familiarity and experience with data warehousing and business intelligence solutions and workflows
- Expert knowledge of SQL Server 2005, SSIS technology and technically excellent in all areas of SQL Server development including stored procedures, functions and triggers as well as clustering
- Experience designing strategies for ETL audit, load balance, exception handling and high data volumes
- Proven expertise in data warehouse and Data Marts methodologies as well as extensive knowledge of OLTP/OLAP technologies
- Must have been exposed to full SDLC process – ability to design, organize, and implement module, perform system testing, plan and automate tasks to maintain existing system – ability to research and trouble-shoot application problems.
- Developed SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages to transform data from SQL 2000 to MS SQL 2005
- Created interface stored procedures used in SSIS to load/transform data to the database
- Reconciled data for transformation from SQL 2000 to SQL 2005 using SSIS.
- College diploma or university degree in Computer Science along with 5 years’ related work experience in a SQL 2000/2005 enterprise environment including project management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated ability in SQL production environment design and administration, T-SQL development and SQL Server DTS and Integration Service
- Understanding and experience with the business intelligence and data warehouse design and implementation
- Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices with hand-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience
- Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting database servers
- Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques
- Take responsibility for self-development and continuous learning to achieve required knowledge for the job
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
- Strong written and oral communication skills with good technical documentation skills
- Ability to conduct research into database issues, standards and products as required
- Highly self motivated and directed with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail
- Team-oriented and strong interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
