Team Lead, IT Operations
Our Client is looking for a full-time Team Lead, IT Operations to join our organization. This position reports to the Manager of IT Operations.
As the Team Lead, IT Operations you will be responsible for team supervision, mentoring, coaching, and strategic direction to areas of systems support, help desk and infrastructure systems architecture. In addition, you will be accountable for the following:
- In this position, you may be responsible for implementing and adhering to approved security controls and procedures in support of the Credit Card Security (PCI compliance) and Computer Use & Electronic Communications policies
- Support and implement tactical goals and operational activities of the department.
- Supervise and direct all IT operations activities in conjunction to departmental goals and objectives
- Project manage and direct highly technical information projects and technical planning
- Responsible for the architecture and development of large-scale enterprise systems.
- Responsible for the design of the deployment architecture to support the applications developed.
- Promote adherence to standardized processes thereby ensuring the delivery of well-documented, high quality, and cost effective solutions.
- Ensure all security precautions have been implemented regarding source code and proprietary information for the organization. Review and approve processes and procedures.
- Develop and implement strategic goals and operational objectives with technology leadership
- Develop direct reports’ knowledge and ability to analyze, recommend, and utilize innovative systems, strategies, procedures, and technology to their fullest potential.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to evaluate requirements, and recommend solutions to the Senior Management team.
- Provide the technical expertise, leadership, planning, and coordination to ensure the continuity of technical services to the organization.
- Manage the implementation and support of network management systems.
- Manage the Helpdesk system – ensure tickets are handled on a timely basis and that tickets entered are closed correctly.
- Manage the desktop environment – ensure a high degree of stability with attention to rapid desktop builds, stable software installs, and regular service pack updates.
- Assist in disaster recovery planning.
- Minimum 5+ years experience in a directly related position.
- Excellent supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to build motivate and influence a team of talented engineering professionals.
- Solid understanding of telecomm industry and technology environments
- Knowledgeable of NT, Windows 2000, XP, 2003, and 2008 Microsoft OS & applications and BackOffice Solutions
- Solid experience in SAN administration (preference to Netapp/Sun or similar experience)
- Strong background in Linux administration (preference to Fedora/Centos or similar experience)
- Solid experience in Vmware administration and Vmware Lab Manager
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
- A leader with a “Positive Can Do Attitude” to deliver results
- Must have the ability to multi-task and be extremely organized.
- Must have the ability to work under tight deadlines and changing priorities.
- Understand and be able to articulate the business case for technology investment to the Senior Management team.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field would be an asset.
- Ability to provide 24×7 support

You are a natural problem solver with excellent analytical skills. You come with a solid telecomm background with superior verbal and written communication skills including your success in projecting management in a technical environment.
