Our cllient is looking for a SQL Server Database Developer
The successful candidate for this position will be a creative architect with very strong architecture and communication skills. The candidate will also be self-motivated and enthusiastic as well as possess the ability to quickly leverage existing and emerging technologies to solve business level challenges. Technology Leadership Requirements
- Advise, design and develop business solutions, including early adoption of new technologies and/or transitioning legacy technologies
- Present design, technical requirements, feature set, and functionality of systems based on supplied functional specification or requirements
- Produce solid technical documentation
- Ensure applications are maintained with optimal performance and scalability
- Assist in conceptualizing, designing, and documenting new architecture for existing applications and platforms
- Envision all sides of a problem domain, architect a solution, seek critical feedback and defend design
Job Requirements
- Develop new features and performance enhancements with database upgrades and enhancements
- Support the underlying database for our existing multitude of client technologies and enterprise transaction processing system, including kiosk, mobile, and web applications.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of our Data Model and data integration points.
- Monitor the health and performance of our databases
- Discover and implement performance and uptime improvement strategies
- Participate in design and review meetings for both On Demand and corporate initiatives
- Contribute to testing strategies for new and revised application deliverables
- Support automated unit testing
- Grow our internal reporting / business intelligence infrastructure
- Select and implement tools and procedures for managing all aspects of database design and operations
- Develop and implement strategies for replication, cloud deployment, load testing, and penetration testing
- Evaluate new technologies to improve performance and reliability
Qualifications
- 5 years overall experience in database management
- Experience with large public-facing websites, enterprise transaction systems optimization, security, and support
- Significant experience with replication and indexed views
- Intermediate T-SQL skills
- Advanced administration level with MS SQL Server 2005 or higher
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Excellent documentation abilities
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, growing team
- Experience with SQL Azure and .Net enterprise development experience is a key advantage
