Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager for a 9 month Contract. This Project may extend 6 months.
This contract’s objective is to reduce the operational risk of moving our client’s line of business (LOB) applications, common off the shelf (COTS) applications, and peripherals to a new standard image, by ensuring all applications and peripherals affected by TRP will work on the hardware and software being deployed.
Additionally, key principles of this Program are;
a) To replace existing legacy workstations within our client within three (3) years of the transformation date and then continually thereafter; and
b) To maintain a standardized workstation environment with a minimum number of versions of Microsoft operating systems to minimize support costs.
The Project Manger must be at a Senior Level and meet one the the following conditions;
- A Degree in Consulting related disciplines and a minimum of four (4) years of related Consulting experience; or
- A Diploma in Consulting related disciplines and a minimum of five (5) years of related Consulting experience; or
- A Certificate in Consulting related disciplines and a minimum of six (6) years of related Consulting experience; or
- An absolute minimum of eight (8) years of directly related Consulting experience.
Responsibilites
The expected responsibilities of the Project Manager are as follows;
- Coordinate the overall client testing effort in support of Client’s schedule.
- Represent client in weekly and other periodic Team meetings
- Keep work plans up-to-date, and communicate updates and changes as testing efforts progress to team members,
- Mentor and oversee of the work of the client Test Team members, staying in constant communication with the team via various media such as email, Office Communicator, regular team meetings, status reporting, etc.
- Manage stakeholder expectation by communicating as needed client status, and issues and risks that impact client timelines.
- Manage client scope by utilizing common project management change control and scope containment techniques, and ensuring up-to-date project artifacts, including charters, work plans, change documentation, etc. are vetted and communicated, and made available on the team SharePoint site.
- Take the lead on problem solving and escalation as needed when issues arise that impact scope, timelines and quality.
- Work with vendors to develop communication plans for sites affected by client to inform them of the Project approach, including timelines for deployment and training.
Experience Required:
Preferably, the successful candidate will:
- Have a proven track record of managing medium sized projects with high organizational visibility.
- Have demonstrable experience as a competent team leader.
- Be able to articulate their approach to organizing and managing a software and peripheral testing program
- Be able to demonstrate experience in effectively prioritizing and managing tasks and deliverables within strict timeframes.
- Have demonstrable experience as an analytical thinker who ensures accuracy in the details with strong problem- solving and negotiation skills.
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the experience and ability to communicate to senior management and stakeholders.
- Have a degree in Business, Computer Science or other related discipline with at least 4 years project management experience occurring within the last 7 years
- Have experience working in a healthcare environment.
- Have software testing experience.
- Have attained PMP certification or equivalent (desirable).
