Business Intelligence Developer/Architect
As a Business Intelligence Developer/Architect, you will be responsible for helping enterprise and B2B clients make better business decisions via providing timely, accurate and scalable business information solutions in the form of web-based and printed reports. As an Architect, you will design schemas, standards and ETL processes to support the database, data storage and information needs of the business. In addition, you will be accountable for the following:
- Design and implement business intelligence delivery channels according to customer needs
- Ensure the development of best practices and standards for BI product development
- Design and implement ETL processes (Extract Transform and Load) to populate the data warehouse (relational and
multidimensional) from operational data and other data sources - Work closely with the Database team to improve and leverage the design of enterprise data stores
- Implement proactive measures to ensure verifiably accurate information is delivered to business users on time
- Serve as a point-of-contact for questions regarding the quality of the business information provided by the team.
Follow up with the appropriate teams/individuals to resolve problems identified during investigations - Ensure quality and timeliness of estimates and product delivery to support the development of new BI products
- Communication with end users to gather requirements and approach
- In this position, you may be responsible for implementing and adhering to approved security controls and procedures
in support of the Credit Card Security (PCI compliance) and Computer Use & Electronic Communications policies - Oversee the modeling, design, documentation, performance tuning, safeguarding and disaster recovery of our
multiple mission-critical database systems - Work with the IT Operations and Development teams to identify the policies and requirements that drive out a
particular technical solution - Review data requirements and response-time needs and devise computer hardware configurations to support them

In addition, you also possess the following skills and experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ business intelligence development experience
- Minimum 3 years’ database development experience
- Minimum 3 years’ work-related experience in the design and development of GUI-based OLTP systems
- Solid experience with T-SQL and MS-SQL Server 2005/2008
- Solid background in SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services and SQL Server Analysis Services
- Proven experience with Data Warehousing concepts
- Familiarity with database modeling (ER Studio) and design tools. UML experience is an asset.
- Well-versed in database architectures and hardware configuration as it relates to high-performance database
systems - Familiarity with Telecommunication environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills at both business and technical levels
- Solid experience in creating detailed professional technical documentation
- Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills and work in a team environment is required.
- Diploma from publicly accredited post-secondary technical institution an asset
