
Our client is looking for a Jr. Systems Engineer to join the small cross-functional team that keeps the their networks, servers, storage, and applications running smoothly, efficiently and securely.
The role includes providing end-user Tier 1 support for a wide array of server, network, VOIP, application and desktop issues. The systems utilize a wide variety of new and desirable technologies in Our client is looking for a Jr. Systems Engineer to join the small cross-functional team that keeps the their networks, servers, storage, and applications running smoothly, efficiently and securely.
The role includes providing end-user Tier 1 support for a wide array of server, network, VOIP, application and desktop issues. The systems utilize a wide variety of new and desirable technologies ina hybrid cloud / on-prem architecture spanning multiple sites and IaaS, PaaS and SaaS deployments. The role will get exposure across IT Operations, and provides a great opportunity to expand your skill set and experience in the IT industry.
The successful candidate must be an excellent team player, have good technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain its solution. They must also be good with people, calm and patient to deal with difficult users and issues.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for end users seeking technical assistance through a ticketing system.
- Responsible for workstation set up
- Responsible for user access requests (add/modify/delete)
- Responsible for setting up folder permissions
- Responsible for software upgrade/support and installation
- Trouble shooting wide array of issues including but not limited to: Password Reset, Email, Printer/Network resources, Network Drives, Windows Desktop issues, Folder permissions
Required Skills:
- Solid technical IT foundation
- Knowledge of Windows domain environments operations (Active Directory / Group Policy, Windows Update, imaging and backups, DHCP and DNS)
- Good experience maintaining Windows 7, Windows 10, Mac OS, MS Office / O365
- Basic networking skills
- Familiar with Windows Server OS
- Knowledge of mobile device management a bonus
- Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
- Ability to escalate issues when required
