Why do you need a great resume?October 19th, 2012

  • You need a resume that makes you stand out as a superior candidate for a job you are seeking.
  • (Most resumes in the reviewers pile will only get a quick glance. But some resumes get read from beginning to end,
then it gets put into the small pile of resumes that make the first cut. These are the people who will be asked to an interview.)

Your resume is the

  • KEY to getting the initial interview. You should never send out a resume unless it makes you say “WOW“.

Your resume should

  • Make you proud; it’s the first impression of what you have accomplished and provides a window into what you can possibly do.

Here is a real example,

  • A candidate that approached us looking for a job, and he had been looking for employment for over a year.
We interviewed him and realized that he was a very competent technical database developer, but yet couldn’t get an interview.
After spending time with him and helping him re-do his resume, he quickly received many interviews and was employed again
within a month, that was two years ago and he is still happily employed.
